Folks, I started playing - or at least trying when I was in the third grade. I didn't play much beyond two more years due to lousy instructors and even lousier music picks. Life passed on, and finally, I came upon these books. I purchased all three of this series and started out fresh. I've now been playing (self taught) for about 5 months. Yes, I still stumble and make it sound bad from time to time, but these books have given me the confidence that if I practice and practice, I can sound great. Other people have listened to me play, and they just cannot believe what they are hearing.I even bought the entire series for my 81 yr old mother to start playing again with. I guess that pretty much sums it up.BTW, if you change it up some, "Little Brown Jug" can become "My Ding-A-Ling"!
